Directions To the Balmoral!
The Balmoral Motel is located at the west end of the Village of Tatamagouche at 131 Main St. Main St. is also known as NS Route 6, or the Sunrise Trail.
To get to the Balmoral from Halifax:
Take Route 102 towards Truro
At Truro, take Exit 14A towards Onslow and Tatamagouche.
;Exit right & up the ramp to a Stop sign.
At the Stop sign, turn right and travel 3 km towards Bible Hill.
At Route 311 turn left and travel 50 km to a Stop sign at Route 6 at the eastern end of the Village of Tatamagouche.
At the Stop sign, turn left and travel 1 km through the village to the Balmmoral Motel on the right-hand side
Elapsed time: 1.5 to 2 hours
To get to the Balmoral from Moncton:
Take Route 2, the Trans-Canada Highway, towards Nova Scotia.
At the NS-NB border, the route number changes to Route 104
At Exit 3 for Amherst, take Route 6 East (right) towards Pictou and Tatamagouche.
Follow Route 6 for 100 km to Tatamagouche.
The Balmoral Motel is on the left, opposite Foodland and just before the RCMP station.
Elapsed time: 1.5 to 2 hours.
To get to the Balmoral Motel from Cape Breton:
Take Route 104, the Trans-Canada Highway, from the causeway towards Antigonish, New Glasgow, and Halifax.
Follow the exit for Route 106 towards Pictou and the PEI Ferry.
Travel about 1.5 km to the Rotary (Traffic circle)
At the Rotary, take the third exit marked Route 6 Tatamagouche and Amherst.
Travel west 53 km to Tatamagouche.
Travel through the village to the Balmoral Motel on the right-hand side.
Elapsed time 2 to 2.5 hours.
To get to the Balmoral Motel from Ontario or Quebec:
Take the Trans-Canada east to Moncton
Follow the directions from Moncton
For a nice diversion, take Quebec Route 132 around Gaspe, or NB Route 11 down the east coast of New Brunswick.
To get to the Balmoral Motel from Boston, NH, and points South:
Take I-95 north to Bangor, Maine
At Bangor, take Exit 182A to Route 395
Take Exit 4 to South Main St., Brewer, Maine
Travel north on South Main St., (Route 9 East) 95 miles to Calais, Maine
At Calais cross the US-Canada border into St. Stephen. NB
Take Route 1 through Saint John to Salisbury, NB where you join Route 2, then on Route 2 to Moncton (Total 170 miles).
