We are a family with three children and took over the Balmoral Motel
in Spring 2019 from the Dyer family. After many successful years, our predecessors
decided to retire and hand over the well-known Motel Balmoral. We are happy about the
great trust that they've placed in us and are happy to continue to serve tot he existing
guests and look forward to new guests. If you feel comfortable as our guest and enjoy
the peace and nature, that fills us with satisfaction. We come from Switzerland and
have run a bed and breakfast in Turbenthal (about 30 minutes from Zurich) for 10 years.
Over the years many things have changed for us. But a great wish remained unfulfilled
for a long time. Now we've the opportunity to realize that dream here in Nova Scotia together.
During a family trip through Nova Scotia in 2017, we had the opportunity to see and love
almost the entire peninsula. This journey consolidated our decision to emigrate to Canada.
We acquired a farm on the edge of the village and will soon hold animals and enjoy the peace and seclusion.
Visiting local shops, markets and restaurants is always a great pleasure! The locals here are insanely friendly and open-minded - just very enriching! We felt at home from the beginning. What we love about Tatamagouche is its charm, the hospitality and the proximity to the calm ocean. It's a small village where everyone will feel comfortable. Home is where the heart is - that's why we're here.
